3) Résumé : branches infinies

ff est une fonction numérique et (Cf)(C_f) sa courbe représentative dans un repère orthonormé.
(Les résultats suivants restent valables si xx \to -\infty)

limx+f(x)=±\lim\limits_{x\to+\infty} f(x) = \pm\infty

↘︎

limx+f(x)x=±\lim\limits_{x\to+\infty} \dfrac{f(x)}{x} = \pm\infty

Branche parabolique
axe des ordonnées

limx+f(x)x=a0\lim\limits_{x\to+\infty} \dfrac{f(x)}{x} = a \ne 0

Deux cas :

lim(f(x)ax)=±\lim(f(x) - ax) = \pm\infty

→ branche parabolique direction y=axy = ax

lim(f(x)ax)=b\lim(f(x) - ax) = b

→ asymptote oblique y=ax+by = ax + b

↙︎

limx+f(x)x=0\lim\limits_{x\to+\infty} \dfrac{f(x)}{x} = 0

Branche parabolique
axe des abscisses

(Les résultats restent valables pour xx \to -\infty)

Autres asymptotes possibles

limx+f(x)(ax+b)=0\lim\limits_{x\to+\infty} f(x) - (ax + b) = 0

Asymptote oblique : $y = ax + b$

limxaf(x)=±\lim\limits_{x \to a^-} f(x) = \pm\infty
ou
limxa+f(x)=±\lim\limits_{x \to a^+} f(x) = \pm\infty

Asymptote verticale : x=ax = a

limx+f(x)=b\lim\limits_{x\to+\infty} f(x) = b
ou
limxf(x)=b\lim\limits_{x\to-\infty} f(x) = b

Asymptote horizontale : y=by = b
